Oriel Counselling Service

Counselling and psychotherapy is a way of helping people to make changes in their life, make decisions, face new challenges, set goals and be supported in a caring and compassionate environment.

The Oriel Counselling Service

The Oriel Counselling Service is a community-based service delivered by Teach na nDaoine FRC.

The counsellor/psychotherapists’s responsibilities include:

  • Listening and helping you to understand your difficulties and concerns more fully.

  • Helping you set goals and assisting you to reach those goals by using your strengths and resources.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Being as open and honest as possible.

  • Attending regularly for scheduled sessions.

  • Providing at least 48 hours notice if you are unable to attend.

  • Setting realistic goals and working to achieve those goals.

Cost:

We provide an entirely free service for the initial eight sessions. If you wish to continue accessing counselling beyond this, an appropriate fee may apply.

Our Practitioners:

Our service operates to the highest standards and counsellors/psychotherapists are accredited or working towards accreditation with Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP), Irish Association for Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP) or The British Association for counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). We also have a number of trainee psychotherapists and counsellors who are undertaking a recognised training course and completing their clinical practice placement with our service.
